Linen strings discussion?
« on: August 17, 2015, 09:20:27 pm »
I've had a bit of a search on here, but relevant info seems to be several years old now, and in the intervening years, from what I could glean, apparently barbour's mill, reputedly one of the better sources of suitable linen thread, has closed or at least changed hands.
So what are suitable brands, sizes etc of linen thread?  What are the pros and cons, and properties of each for various applications?  Look forward to reading from those with a bit more experience and knowledge than me.
Ta.

I use linen strings, as it turns out the distributor is right around the corner from my house. I went to his shop and he allowed me to test all his linen. The 6 strand he had was the best linen I have found to date. Linen strings are low stretch, almost no stretch. They are larger diameter so more comfortable shooting bare finger. They still perform pretty well, about like b-50 i would say.
