What's this?
« on: August 09, 2015, 07:36:20 pm »
This is my new boo backed yew. These showed up after a ten or fifteen shots. It seems like a chrysal on the edge of the belly. The belly is flat so the section is quite square. Should I round the edge a bit to get rid of them or will that just make chryals appear somewhere else. So far they are just in the one spot.  I'll try to post better pictures but I'm fighting with Windows 10 and the way it deals with pictures.

The forces of a bow compound wherever there are sharp edges. I always round out all of my edges about 1/4" radius. just give the edges of your bow a little roundover and it will take care of the problem.

Is that going to drop the weight much do you think? I've got a couple of pounds I can spare.

It shouldn't drop the poundage much at all, if any. But even if it does, its better than a broken bow!

Rounded the corners and shot 100 shots, no further problems. Thanks ;D I'm thinking I want a scraper with 1/4" radius.
