Here is a bow I've been tinkering with for a bit.
Started out as a pile of billet length logs I found in a park the very day they were cut. I was so bummed that they cut down my go to mulberry snacking tree, I took all the wood home as payment. My wife was not impressed with me, but I got the wood. Got enough for 4 sets of billets. All with character, and three sets wide enough for adult flatbows.
The bow is 58" ntn, about 1 1/2" wide at the fades, stiff tips. No overlays. All bending and straightening done with the heat gun. Took a fair bit of heat to get aligned. Draws 45# @ 26". Some minor fretting on top limb, evenly distributed, I think it will survive, they are not getting worse.
Stained, then a few coats of tru-oil/linseed mix.
Full draw coming as soon as I can get my photographer to cooperate. Sorry for the crap picture quality.
Cheers
