3 Xmas Bows
« on: December 28, 2014, 04:49:29 am »
Lots of  xmas gifts bows posted recently, thought i'd post what i made over the last month.
I apologize for the bad photos, it was a bad day for it but was my last chance to get any kind of photos before i had to send them off.
Full draw shot are me filming myself and then trying to capture screen shots. Not the best set up, but i was alone and it was raining pretty bad.

First one if cherry bark backed yew. was a pretty special bow for me, first bow from my first yew tree i ever cut.
54" ntn, 48# at 26".  leather grip and ebony overlays.

Next one is lingcod backed osage.  This bow and the next are my first 2 goes with osage, and obviously i loved it. its 60" ntn, and 43# at 27". Leather grip, some silk wrappings and cow horns tip overlays
I cooked in a couple inches of reflex and it kept half

3rd bow is salmon belly backed osage. It was a belly split off the last bow.Its 50" long, and 30# at 25". Leather grip and cowhorn overlays.

All 3 bows plus 1 other gift bow i posted a while back. its salmon backed yew.

Thanks for looking guys

Dang Wizardgoatman you've been one busy bowyer from the looks of those pictures, some seriously nice Xmas gifts there. Always enjoy seeing your bows, they blend so well into the pnw forest that they look like they were made while sitting on a mossy log right in the middle of the wilderness. 8)
