Limb width for a 55# Hackberry bow?

Heh guys,

Just had a friend ask me to make him a bow because he's becoming interested in the more traditional forms of bowhunting. He wants to try a 55# bow. His draw length is 29" and he's more interested in a stiff handle type bow. I would think the length would have to 64" to 68" long, probably on the longer end unless I tiller it really well but I wasn't sure about a starting point for a limb width for hackberry. Would 2" wide from fade outs to mid limb, then taper to 1/2" knocks make a 55# lb bow if I do my part right? Also, on a scale of 1 to 10, how would you guys rate hackberry in terms of durability? All replies and comments are greatly appreciated.

2 inches wide down to 1/2 inch is exactly what id do

I would probably flip the tips, and be sure to toast the belly. I haven't shot mine enough to comment on the durability, but after a year of occasional shooting, so far so good.

No less than 68" ntn no less than 2" wide for that weight and draw length.
