Stringing static recurve

 Is there a secret to stringing an old, all wood static recurve, that has real small tips. I just aquired one and am having a hard time figureing out how.The tips are so samll you can't use a stringer. It also has about 2 inches of reflex.  Thanks in advance.

Take your time, thats for sure.  My suggestion is the step through method with a real wide stance.  Or make a custom bowstringer to fit the bow.  Good luck, post pics if you have some :)

I would use a long string and exercise it quite a few times pulling it maybe 2" 30 times then go to 3" then 4".  Only after you are sure you have exercised it to well beyond brace height I would consider stringing. Justin
