butternut arrows

Anyone made arrows out of butternut.  If so how did they work.  I made a couple od dozen last night.  They came in between 40# and 55# pounds.  We made them out of three different boards.

Hard to even find white walnut anymore in Indiana. Heartwood arrows?

Got one straightened and sanded with two coats on it.  Will fletch it up in a couple of days and give it a try.

Don't know how to do pictures!!

John , Butternut seems to light weight to me and to brittle so I have not tried it, but if the spine is good you may as well give it a go .
