But are the wood jaws attached to the vice jaws in any way? Looking through your buildalong sometimes the leather jaws are in and sometimes not. Sorry to be such a pain but they look like what I want. OO's magnetic jaws look good.

I been using an old leather work glove that was worn out long ago. I gotta copy one of these set ups. Thanks. Marco.

My pads aren't attached to the vice in any way, just slide over the center bar. My type will work well with a vise with a square center bar but not with the round, oddly shaped type like O Outlaw's.

I use to just lay a piece of leather or card board down inside the jaws. It was simple and it worked, but now I have a stave press and I love it.

Don, the pads are not attached to the vice. I can slip them in or out at will.

Thank you everyone. I think I will make a set that look like Gordon's (one piece of leather) but I'll put magnets in like Osage Outlaw's. I'll use pieces of OS wood for the jaws, last forever.
