Deflex allows the wood to stay fresh. Fresh wood is very important to speed.
The trouble with that thought regarding this bow is that the "deflex" is more of a decurve achieved by compressing the wood to attain that curve.
 Is the wood still "fresh" if it is boiled to plasticize it and then compressed?
