A bit of burnt buckthorn
« on: October 01, 2013, 01:20:45 pm »
A bow for a friend, buckthorn, #35 at 26". 56" NTN. Got a bit careless during heat treating, but I actually like the burnt textures. Might dye the handle wrap, its cotton.

I concur. Great looking bend. I love a good stick of buckthorn as much as anybody.

Bendy handle is where it's at!  In addition to dying the handle I think if you twisted the cotton string back over itself the thicker string would look better.  JMO though.  A dark earthy stain for the wrap would look real nice.

Nice work on the tiller.  How wide did it end up being :)
