Discoloration in osage?

Is the darker spots around the pin knots ok? The wood seems fine.

Yup, emmer pin knots you got right there. Back looks good in the pics, and if the rest looks like that, start your profile and belly tillering.

I was expecting to see something spectacular, sometimes there is a lovely mottling between the zone of heartwood and sapwood.  What you have is 100% normal.

Here is some discoloration in an osage stave.  Pearly has the bow made from it.

It seems like every tree I took from one hedgerow had "rootbeer" colored streaks in it.  All the staves made fantastic bows and I loved the color!
It is God who arms me with strength
   and keeps my way secure.
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
   he causes me to stand on the heights.
He trains my hands for battle;
   my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
