Help with knot...
« on: August 06, 2013, 04:20:37 pm »
I've been working on this 5-curve Osage and I'm fairly certain that I can either put a plug or sawdust/superglue in this knot but wanted another set of eyes and to see what everyone thought. This knot is right near the end of the working limb, haven't decided on static or working recurve yet. But it will be sinewed tip to tip. Thanks. The pics are back, side and belly in order.

Looks like most of the knot will come out when you reduce the stave. Get it down to floor tiller and see how it looks, that's what I'd do

Change your design (more pyramidal) so you can shift the limb's greater bend/stress near handle so you can narrow that knot section. Wood should the determining  factor for design, not you.........Art B
