Heck, I made a bow for a guy (this bow: http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php?topic=26430.0). He wanted a warbow, I made it from a piece of mulberry. It was nice and light, like mulberry tends to be, and I am sure it shot just beautifully from the light mass. He ended up gluing fiberglass to the back of it!!!  :o He asked me before he did it what I thought as well, I guess he was worried about a couple pin knots. I explained to him thoroughly what a bad idea that was to glue fiberglass to the bow... Once you get rid of a bow though, it's there's to do with what they will I guess though.  :'( I think he told me the bow ended up chrysaling or something, which I told him it would do... I believe so, not super sure.
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."

Glad you figured it out Chris,Like you said I don't give many away and sell even fewer,I guess the ones I sell or trade don't really matter what happens to them, the ones I give away is another story in my mind. ;) :)

I had a trade bow that I got from sadiejane and my oldest son loved that bow, really wanted it bad, I contacted Sadie and asked if it would be a problem if I gave it to Jason, if it would have bothered Sadie he would not have it, just think that when you are given something that is that personal you have to show some respect to the person that built it
failure is an option, everyone fails, it's how you handle it that matters.

I did almost the same buddy,I had a Shannon Walker bow that was just a little light in weight for me but shot great,Jon had one almost like it but was heaver.
He wanted the light one.I told him I couldn't trade without talking to Shannon.Talked to him and he was good with it so we swapped. Wouldn't have done it if it had bothered him in the least. I get that alot, But I just do sell or trade something someone gave me. :) Now if I buy it or trade for it that is a completely different story.  :) guess that's why my cabin is full of bows and kinves and such, folks give me a lot of stuff. ;) :) :) :) :)

Come on up and we'll have a shootout of our own! :D I had a beautiful bow made by Jason Baker that I purchased several years ago. I lost contact with him, and after awhile decided to move the bow on. Jason got ahold of me when it turned out a new hunting partner had bought the bow from me. No hard feelings, but neat to see the circle continued. Just like no hard feelings about buckeyes, but that smell......
