A bow like that is on top of my list for most useful and fun!  I'm working on a similar one now after having given one as a gift, recently.  Just a little longer at 50" with a knot and a much more pronounced kink by the handle.  Kinda a junk piece of Osage, but, I know it will make a bow that I enjoy as much if not more than some of the beautiful stave bows.

I love it, especially the side profile look of that bow.  So thin, so wavy, so bowness!
