DIY TD bow sleeves

I
really
want a TD self bow.
However, the only TD sleves around that I could find were $40 from 3R and even then I read that they were sub par.
So, Anyone try making their own? I know there's a pretty wide selection of copper and threaded steel pipe at my hardware store, I might try something from there but I wanted to get some tips from yall first.
Thanks!
Dan

Here's my one and only. Thread here:

I've been shooting it since Nov. '12 and like it quite well. Taking it down is quick and it's very handy.

I'll have to pick up this copy of PA.
VMB, really looking forward to it, TD bows have always been facinating to me.
asharrow, I might try something similar but with pre made parts, I'll see if I can get out to Ace today and do some brain storming.
