Hey Everyone,
For all you osage pro's out there, when you bring the back down to one ring, do you leave an "island" of the ring above it around pin knots? As I typically work white wood, I'm not really sure. I've only made one osage bow, and it ended up lifting a small splinter at a pin knot after a few thousand shots, and was wondering if this was because of my failure to leave this island around the pin knot? Talking purely about unbacked self bows. Any input would be welcome. Thanks.
