URAC adhesive
« on: September 07, 2012, 01:27:08 pm »
By now, many of you have been hearing that URAC is being discontinued. It looks like Unibond 800 will be the replacement and is used just like URAC. I inquired with Nelson Paint to see how the two compare, and am waiting to hear back. I'll post when I hear.

I stocked up on a couple of pints when I heard they were discontinuing URAC. It has been my experience that it lasts for years in the frig.

(From Laurie at Nelson) "It is as strong and yes UNIBOND 800 is the replacement." From what I read, you use it just like Urac and it's tintable. Has about the same shelf life. 14.99 for a quart kit from Nelson.

I just checked with our Canadian distributor and he confirmed this as well, but he did not know yet what the replacement would be. "Working on it." was the comment.
Ordered another quart and I am on his heads up list.

Thanks for the info.

Just buy the Unibond 800. Here's the page. http://www.nelsonpaint.com/UNI800-QT.html

Thanks for the info Tom.  I still have a quart of resorcinol but I'll give this stuff a try next.
