inspiration doesnt always help...
« on: July 15, 2012, 09:58:31 pm »
Got the bug to get out in he pit today and started workin a georgetown preform I had busted out the other day. It had developed a bad stack in the middle and I was havin no luck so I just went for it. May try to make them look a little better, once the mad wears off...

So, then I picked up a rough piece of burlungton and knocked out a little blade. Wasn't high quality from any angle but it knapped alright and has nice color.

Sometimes it works out and sometimes it don't.

Good looking points! That Georgetown blade looks like it was tough. You and John make that Burlington look real cool!

Thanks for posting that, makes me feel a little better.  Loved them all though.  Great flake scars.  I agree, that georgetown looks like it had some concrete in it.  Tough piece to go for a long blade.  Way better than I would have done, which isn't saying anything at all now that I think about it. ::)

Thanks guy/gals. I played small ball tonight and dug out some small pieces of burlington. Ended up finishing both of them. That brown CO sure does make sharp edges.

Beauties there, wow!  Those deep corner notches are awesome. Man I'll be glad when I finally figure out how to do that.  Nice work.

They all look great Scott! I have some gtown that works like that, just a low grade of the good stuff  and i imagine just a tad bit of heat would make it work a lot better.
