New Idea-Prototype
« on: May 10, 2012, 08:52:22 pm »
Here's something I've been playing with for a couple of years. I got the idea from RyanO a few years ago. I didn't like the setup so I changed a few things. It's made from bamboo and Eastern Red Cedar to keep it light. It is all traditional except the rubber piece. I'm replaceing it with a thick piece of leather. I've shot some arows through it and it is quiet and stays in place. I'm going to shoot the course Sunday at the Club I shoot at and see if it loosens up any.
What ya think? ;D

LOVE the color of your bow Eddie. The quiver is cool. Im curious to see how well it stays snug after a round Sunday. Thats the test right there!

Thanks, Pearlie, the bow just keeps getting darker. Made it in '04. I figure if it doesen't loosen up after 40 targets it will work for hunting season.

Idea: How about you soak your leather lace for a few minutes then wrap it. It will suck down like a "you know what" when it dries I bet!

I really like that idea a lot.  I've considered similar things but couldn't figure out how to do it without too much weight or bulk.  Yours seems about perfect.

Thanks, Adam. I have been trying to make it light since I started playing with it. Pearl, I was going to soak it before I shoot. I just wrapped it for the pictures, but it is tight like that.

If the ladies don't find you handsome, at least they should find you handy.

Eddie - I like it, but looks bulky...sort of like putting a hitch on a porsche.  Maybe if it was just a two arrow?

Your bow must be OSAGE TO KEEP GETTING DARKER WITH AGE. Don't you just love that.

Dilligence, it is actually very light, you don't even feel the weight. Look at it like a Carrera with a spoiler :D. It passed the test for me, anyway. It never loosened up, so now I'm going to clean it up and use it hog hunting in July.
Crooketarrow, yep, I love how osage ages. It's like a fine bourbon, just gets better.
