isaac's first bow
« on: April 04, 2012, 08:49:57 pm »
Told my son yesterday that we would start his bow.  I was was sitting down and relaxing today after a long day at work you know how it is when you get home.  My son walked up and said are we starting my bow tonight? I said heck ya!!!! Let's go!  Here he is going after it! Those of you that came to IA Jam put a fire in him.  Shooting at Scott's sure did help also.

There you go, Dad. Looks like he's an eager beaver!! Keep us posted!!
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

That photo hurts my face.  The smile is cracking my jawbones.

Tell Isaac I hope to shoot with him again soon!

Go get em young fella! I can't think of many better things for a young lad to be doing. Creativity, patience, thought, good old hard work and he gets a bow at the end of it as a reward. Oh and it's osage!

That is just awesome. My son loves dragging a rasp across a piece of would, but it will be a couple more years before he can get something substantial removed from a stave.  That is what I picture him doing in a few more years.  I can't wait.  Thanks for sharing!

the mono chord, the initial rune of fine art
The humanities grew out from archery as a flower from a seed
No sooner did the soft, sweet note of the bow-string charm the ear of genius than music was born, and from music came poetry and painting and..." Maurice Thompso

We were able to lay out the bow today.  We will cut it out this Sunday if we are not too busy.
