I was looking to buy a used disk/belt sander combo and found this nice little setup for a $100...station & all 3 machines included.  The disk/belt sander is for grinding/thinning horn for some upcoming Horn Bow builds and possibly a few knife scale work as well.  I don't have any tasks in mid for the other two machine...yet but I just couldn't pass it up.

I also stopped in at a local "antique shack" and found this Nickleson Rasp that should make a dandy knife blade in the future (need to get me a mini forge yet) and since it was only $3 I couldn't leave it there.

And as I was walking out the door I saw an Agate slabbed clock face...clock was defunct but I could care less so I brought this home and cooked it up at 500 for 12 hours and the colors really popped out on it, all the lines were very faint prior to cooking.  We'll see how I fare at flaking this stuff up.

Thanks for looking~

Congrats, nice haul. Turn the router into a shaft maker. ;)

Hmm, I'll have to think about that option and try to figure out how to do that with a router (I'm not very sharp when it comes to power tools and such... ::) more of a scraper/rasp sorta guy.)

Lee, there are build alongs for building shaft makers from a router table either in PA's How To section or on one of the other archery sites.
Nice haul. Easily worth a "c" note.  ;)

I don't know if the smile on Eddie's face is any smaller, but that is a nice haul.

Just spent the last 30 minutes ruining the smaller piece of agate slab...all the flakes and indirect percussion ran with the swirls/grain of the agate and it just kept sharding out until I had nothing left but chunks.   :'(

I never did get the hang of indirect percussion,  but I do know a deal when I see one.  Great haul.

Thanks Madcrow...I can't really say I have the hang of anything when it comes to knapping.  I occasionally turn out an ok piece but my inconsistency drive me mad.

Excellent find!  No shop is complete without a table router and a miter saw.  Thats some cool rock!! Cant wait to see what kind of point you get from it.
