New Neck knife
« on: January 18, 2012, 04:54:19 pm »
I went to visit a friend who makes bows in Nashville.  He made a new riser for my limbs I had to pick up.  He’s a heck of a bow builder by the way.  Some of you all may know him, his name is Allen Corn.  Anyhow he gave me a knife blank he’d finished up and I had some really nice wood Joe sent me so the two together made a pretty neck knife.  I’m unsure what the wood is Joe gave me, but the blade is Saw Mill from Shannon.

Thanks to my friends I have a neck knife.  I’ve made many of these type but I always give them away to friends.  This one I think I’ll hang on to for a little while.

That is a nice looking piece of wood to go with a heck of a knife, John. It's sweet!

I would feel no shame in owning or using that knife.  In fact, I'd probably feel no shame in stealing it.  Just sayin'.

You should keep an eye on it.

Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Wow--now that's a pretty knife.  I think the wood may have come from an old maple rifle stock blank I had laying around!  I knew you would make something beautiful from it!  A/Ho Joe
