My wife got me new tools for christmas and let me open them early. She loves me!!!!!! ;D

Thanks warhawk. I have not used the paddle yet. I am waiting to heat treat some stone and ry all of them out.

I have a feeling that the gifts from my 3 and 5 year old have somthing to do with the word pre-form. ::)

I know a couple of Knappers who use a paddle bopper and they make great work!  One tip i can give u is to use just the tip...it will throw long running flakes!

If you practice long enough and can use the paddle free hand you will see a big difference in removing stacks and or steps!

You sure got a keeper there. Nice looking blade and tools. How would you go about using that paddle, just like a billet? How does it make a different removing stacks and steps, is it just how it transfer the energy from the tool to the stone?

I had a Metcalf paddle once. I gave it away. Worst mistake I've made. In my opinion its the best copper tool for preforming I've seen!  Takes some getting used too. Lord rest his soul!
