That made me think of another question lol.  I was trying to decide which end i was gonna trim, the skinny or fat end.  Which should I do?  I guess if I keep fat end i can always sand down.

Trim the point end. Easier to replace a point than to replace selfnocks.

Yeh that makes sense Pat B.  What weight points do you use(fixed blade and knapped)?  I weighed some of my knapped points and they run from 50 grains up to 150 grains.  What is the lowest weight you would use?

With store bought heads I use 125gr. With stone I try to match heavier heads with lighter shafts and vice versa to get a set of arrows with similar weight. Cane and shoot shafts are weight forward anyway so the heads don't have to be all that heavy. Sharpness is more important as is good arrow flight.
