It looks like you do have a continuous growth ring down the back. It just forms the hump on the back.  8)

Yep, it was a weird piece of Osage for my first but i if it worked i could defiantly make more lol

Nice first bow,looks like a little hinge right out of the fad on the top limb ,other than that looks great. One thing to remember is never pull the bow over the weight you intend on the bow to be,you said it was 80lbs and you was working it down,if you do that will cause you to have more set after it is finished.Nice job,my first looked nothing like that,in fact my first several never made it to full draw. :) :)

I agree with Pappy...will lose strength pulling the bow beyond what you want the final weight to be. Need to ease into the desired draw-weight and draw-length using the tillering tree. That top limb does look like it's bending too much just out of the fades. With the weight you said you had, you could still remove material leaving that spot alone and even the limbs out better while still having a decent finished weight. Just a suggestion...
