early present
« on: January 31, 2011, 01:22:30 am »
well i have been doing alot of small game hunting this winter
havent been shooting much of anything, but i have been out in the woods nearly every weekend
weve had a lot of snow this winter
just this month alone its snowed like 27 0ut of 30 days so far
not always alot at one time, but a half inch here, and inch and half there,3 inches here and there
it all adds up pretty quick when it snows every day like this
this has been making hunting a real bugger
only good thing is,you know what trials are fresh and which ones arent

well i dont own alot of guns anymore(sold off over the years as times would get tough)
so i have ben lugging my Mossberg 20 gage in the woods to chase bunnies and squirrles
ive seen some here and there, but nothing worth taking shots at,any thing past 30 yds and i wont even lift the gun up for

this along with the snow has made for a bad winters worth of hutning
well my youngest son bought me a sweet ass pair of snow shoes for x-mas,this has helped immensly with the walking in the snow.

well yesterday my wife asked "so i would imagine you took your birthday off from work like usual?"
i responed with my usual smart ass remark of "well duh,you know i WONT work on my b-day"
then she says"are you gonna go hunting on your b-day then?"
i then tell her "not sure what i am gonna do,tired of lugging that 20 gage around and not even being ablt oget close enough to pull the trigger"
she then tells me "well i want to get you something for your b-day,but i want you to go pick it out.and i would like to do that today"
i then say "alright, where are you taking me?"
we then proceed from one gun shop to the next untill i find what i am looking for in my price range.
she bought me a sweet little SAVAGE ARMS .22 rifle with a scope and sling  ;D >:D

i think she loves me,what ya'll think  ;D

anyhoo hers a pic of my new bunny buster

thanks for peeking

They are making some pretty sweet rifles at surprisingly low prices these days, Savage deserves a lot of respect.  That Accu-Trigger is suh-weet!  Hope you load up nicely on hopping-chickens.  Mmmm, bunny noodle soop!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.
