i planned to .. it cracked on me the other day so i glued it down and backed it with silk. don't know if it was the wood or my fault in tillering , but its shootin now so maybe theres hope

I just made an elm bow, wasnt sure what type of elm though. After working the stave a bit I picked up my grandaughter and she complained about the smell on my hands...guess I know what type it is now.
Nice bow too.

looks nice. slippery elm also has the very tall bark. the natives use the cambium layer for teas.
