Hemlock for shafts?

Any one ever try hemlock for shafts?I'm thinking its gonna be too soft but not sure.Had some gave to me and trying to figure out what to do with it?

Yes, I saw some lovely ones made by Chris Boyton, and he was very happy with them.  He is one of the UK's premier bowyers and knows his stuff.

I agree, it should make good arrow. The species I use is quite hard and light weight, excellent stiffness and I like how it sands smooth.

I have.....it worked well, it breaks a bit on the brittle side, but no worse than the cedar or poplar arrows I've shot.
