Nice points. Make sure those edges are sharp and those points, pointy.

So Mullet, do you say make the points pointy because those are not pointy enough?  I am trying to learn to knap with obsidian and want to hunt this fall with points I make myself so if those are not pointy enough it would be good to know that...thanks.  Paulc

If it was me I'd make them pointy.

thanks for the reply mullet...I may have a ways to go to make pointy points...maybe I will go with saw blade points but that just isn't the same as a knapped point.

LOL although some types like the clovis wasnt as pointy EH?   :-X :o ;D

Im sure no one is using clovis to hunt deer but a long story short u want penetration and to sever as many blood vessels so if u are just starting out your arrow heads should be pointy and the blades should be about slicing into ur finger.  A good way to tell if ur getting there is to take a piece of meat and use an arrowhead like a knife if it aint cutting through it u might wanna touch em up a bit... My 2 cents!  Have a good day gotta get back to work!
