another red Gunther...

Well, the hits just keep on coming!  Here's another Gunther I finished this afternoon.  Heat treated Mook jasper.  This one is a little smaller, but much thinner than the one I posted yesterday.  Even still, I didn't break any barbs off!  Whew!  It was really tricky though.  I had to tip-toe thru the final edge serrations just to be sure I didn't ruin it and break a barb off.  Here it is...and one pic with the two points together.

Hehe, man billy - them things are tiny! I'd have to get one of those magnifieing headband thing's to attempt something that small.

I actually was kinda wishing I had one of those jewelers magnifying helmets when I was making that second one.  Those serrations are so small I could hardly see what I was doing....

thats some great work billy..i was just at the rock museum in central point and they have an arrow head display and one of the cases are Gunther points from here in the rouge valley...and let me tell you that they are small guys...i am still kind of wondering if they used them to hunt deer with.HMMMMM..john
