hey guys! my boy is way into primitive and wanted to try some shoot shaft arrows. we are polluted with maple in our area, so he tried some shoots that were about 11/32 at midpoint. WOW! they fly like darts out of all of our bows (just slightly heavier than our target arrows, so less distance - but perfect flight). he self-nocked them and sinew wrapped turkey feathers 3-fletch with steel glue on points. we use a lot of spar varnish on things for weather sealing (not everyone's first choice of sealers, but it works well).
