Thinking of putting together a caul to heat in even reflex in osage staves. How much would be good? How much would probably be too much?
Thinking of 3" of reflex.

In my experience more that about 3" of reflex, whether you heat it in or add it with Perry reflex, will overpower the belly and cause more set. I usually go with 3" and am satisfied with a straight profile when shot in but after resting unbraced. If I am lucky I will end up with 1" or maybe 2" of reflex but I ain't usually that lucky!
