Hickory-Backed Ipe R/D (first attempt)

 i like it too.  In fact it looks like a holmegaard tiller, with long unbending outer limbs and short bending limbs givin'er right outa the handle.  good workmanship.

That's edge-grain hickory, right?  How about the ipe?  does it even show yearly rings?

nice bow, what do I know? but to me, when i see the unstrung profile, your bow doesnt look like it has took a set right out of the fades, so even though it looks like it bends too much there if it hasnt crushed the wood and it took no set there, then you got it right and just made a fast bow!

don't sell yourself short.  you had a big mess, you solved it, and made a wicked bow.  That makes you the man.  I'd even trade ya that one for one of mine, but to be honest i'm unreliable!  haha

The mid limbs definitely need to bend more on the next one. Good job for your first attempt though.
