Deer toes

Just wondering if they have any uses...the hooves that is...I was thinking maybe tip overlays but i don't know how thick they are or if they would work??

I have tired it before I don't think they will work. They are all soft on the inside not hard like the outer surface.

You bet they work!  I wondered the same thing, so I tried them for the first time on this ERC bow last year.  ERC is so soft that I felt this bow needed some reinforcement.  Mine aren't real pretty by most standards, but deer hooves are definitely functional for tip overlays!  Go for it!!

Hooves are keratin: the same stuff as horn.  The deer ones I've handled were pretty thin walled though.
