ELM ?????

OK i hate to sound stupid but was wondering if i could get some opinions i cut me a sapling today and i think it is elm but not 100% sure the leaves look like elm but the bark is slightly deferent from the big elms behind my house that i know are elms i think it is a little different because it is a sapling here are a few picks was wanting more opinions to make sure i am right

Yeah, that looks like elm. There are quite a few different species, but most all are probably good bow wood.

yep, looks like the American elm, or piss elm we have here.
Its November, I'm gone hunt'in.......
Osage is still better.....

American elm. Just split out a 12"dia. one that hadn't been taken by DED yet. Gotta love that interlocking grain ;D
