Title: Blacktails work
Post by: Blacktail on November 23, 2008, 01:33:26 am
These are just some points that I have done lately. One is a point made of India Jasper. Another one is made of Burns green that was cut from a slab. The black and yellow one is a Jasper that is local here in Prineville. The knife with the handle wrap is Jasper from the Richardson Rock Ranch.

HEy John,

When I used to live in Oregon I used to find some small chunks of yellow/brown jasper just east of Redmond.  Seems like there's larger pieces of jasper over there in Prineville.  Do you know the extent of the jasper deposit in that area?  I Think I might have just been on the fringes of it where I was.  Seems like you've got stuff more from the heart of the deposit....and that's some beautiful stuff.

thanks guys for the compliment...hey billy, there is 2 place i go to get jasper...one is up by ochoco reservoir and the jasper there is kind of grainy or a lesser grade and the other place i go to is richardson rock ranch...and they have pretty good hard rock mines.....the best place i like to get jasper at is southern oregon because there is a wide verity of color...later john
