A hand pad and an ishi stick would be a good start brother... and some good rock.. good luck ... talk to Cowboy or Wolf Watcher if you have knapping questions, they are the finest knappers I know and will help to point you in the right direction   HAWK a/ho

Yep, band aides, support group, patience,  leather pads, cuss dictionary, desire, safety glasses, dust mask, and of course rock.

1/4" late glass scraps from the dumpster behind the glass company. Cheap(free) knappable material.     Pat

make an ishi stick with a 1" oak dowel from Home depot or lowes. also get a #6 copper wire from there as well. split or drill the dowel. insert copper and sharpen with file. do a search on the net and you will get a pic and prob a 'how to'.

then go a pickup a rock. soft and gritty if you can find it.
that is a cheap start.

find some trade items and put a post on here and paleo planet asking for a deer horn. then you have a bopper and pressure flaker.

then start beating on any and every rock you find.
break up some glass bottles and start with the base.
luck
