This a bow that I made to replace Mike Huston's Rosewood bow that broke. It's a Hickory backed Osage and the Oasge is some I recently got that comes from Southern Ontario and has been seasoned for about 12 years. It's not the best Osage I have worked but it's good none the less. The bow is 58" N to N with 1 1/8" wide limbs tapering to 3/8" nocks. It pulls about 60# @ 28". Here's a couple pics

Wicked looking weapon, Marc. Looks fast. :)

very nice Mark. looks like a very low string angle on such a short bow. sorry to hear the other one broke, but that just goes to show that anybody can brake em. like they said, makes me feel beter ;)

Very nice bow. With those two woods it should stand up to anything.

Looks like an awesome little rocket launcher Mark. You are getting those 58" R/D bows dialed in and perfected. Nice tiller and great looking profile. Can we see some close up of those tips ;)

Great combo and serious contender for October Laminate BOM.
-
Great looking bow Mark, I was going to glue up a hickory backed osage this morning, you have me thinking about cutting it down a bit. That bow of your looks great at full draw. Steve

that's a really aggressive looking piece of wood!

Thanks giys.
I'll post a pic of the lower nock later on. I used a pretty nice looking wood for overlays. Sort of a yellowish brown with black stripes. Don't know what kind of wood it is as I picked up a couple boxes of small pieces of mixed tropical hardwoods at a hardwood dealer. They had some very interesting wood species.
I'm not crazy about making them this short for that draw length but that is what Mike wanted.

Glad yours is still alive Joe. I still can't figure out why Mike's broke. I was having problems with the finish drying on his and we were starting to get pretty cold weather up here. Oh well
Thanks Dana. Are you behaving yourself? :)

Great lookin' bow Marc, looks like a "screamer".I'm sure it won't take Mike long to "blood" it. God Bless

Wow, that bows is stellar. Having shot one of your bows, I have no doubt its well balanced and shoots fast. He's a lucky guy that the other one broke cuz that one is sure to put a smile on his face. Danny
