I knew this stave was going to have some fun challenges to it when I split it. I had to wait 1st for it to season some and more importantly for the right mood to grab me. Then I was off and running.

I did the initial rough out with adze and hachet. Followed by chisel for the handle. After that it was all scrapeing, filing and sanding.

I'm very impressed with how nice this wood behaved both durring the making and the shooting in. It took only 1.5" of set. Now I'll heat treat some reflex into it, retiller and put on a tight black-leather handle. And narrow the tips of course. Should have it finished by weds.  Thanks for looking.

Hey thats great.   Black locusts saplings are sturdy, aren't they.  We need to get you some explosive tips and parachute you into insurgent territory in Afghan.

You are awesome Thimo.  You make some great looking weapons. Those are some nice flowing lines on this one. How wide is the handle? It looks kind of skinny. Justin

Thanks. The handle is just under 1" wide. I wanted it to bend a bit and it does.
