Title: Pre-tiller question
Post by: woodenwonder on August 04, 2008, 11:19:46 am
I making a BBI reflex-deflexed bow and was wondering how much do I pre-tiller it before I glue the bamboo on?

I’m shooting for the finished bow to be about 47# at 27” draw. The bow is 64” nock to nock. And it will have small glue on riser.
Also, I’ve heat bended about 3” of deflexed into the bow now. The bamboo is sanded to about 3/16” thick in the middle.

I'ld like to know what draw and weight should I pre-tiller the Ipe too, before I glue on the bamboo. Thanks

Gary

When pre-tillering you aren't necessarily looking for a specific weight. What you want is a nice even bend so the finished product has a nice even bend.  ;)    Pat
