guys! - this gentleman here is my best friend john edwards, australian, out-to-lunch-grad: 5.7 (richter scale)

he lived in Cologne (1hour drive up north from here) for 5 years now and he'll go back to OZ in 2 weeks time.
last few times he came to visit he built a bow from ash and i helped him with the tillering.
the bow is symmetrical 68" ntn, tiller is 1/4" positive. tiller is not perfect, but we didn't want to lose more draw weight; the bow is 40#@28".
some problems with the back around some pinknots, so we put on a deerhide backing.

john had sketched out some aboriginal influenced artwork that i put on for him (india ink and acrylic paint) and due to leak of time i worked out the tips for him, too.

thats a nice looking stick there 8)

but you gotta teach/learn to slow down,patience is  a virtue

the guy in the photo looks like hes hauling butt to get that one done lol

no, it's really only the photo (no flash used): for real he's been going slow...

btw. the bow took 2" of set starting from 1" of natural reflex.

the tips are stiff needletips as you can see below.

Frank, he looks insane in a good way. :) I love the art - it looks quite a bit like a digeradoo I have next to my desk here, very striking designs.
