Hey agd68~

Moose sinew would be super-kill! Since a moose is so big and has such long legs, I don't think there'd be any better in North America! It would have to be at least 3 times the size of my whitetail sinew   :o, of which my biggest piece is 3/8" thick, by 17" long, and sinew is always the bigger/longer the better. If you got some moose sinew you'll be the envy of a lot of primitive archers, including me!  >:( :)  Get it if you can and also realize the value! You would have a lot of leverage on a trade, or could probably sell it for a way better price than whitetail.

If you get some, do me this one favor if you can--take a pic of it, next to something for size reference (basketball, envelope, arrow) so I can drool over it :P ::) :)

Thanks for the comment, Pappy. I didn't really want to use this screen name, because it might cause confusion, but my little boy who sometimes playfully calls me Papa Matt insisted that I should use it because he gave it to me.  O:) I couldn't turn him down. God love them little babies!

If you can get some uncut backstrap sinews they'd make some great traditional bowstrings.

dont know much about Moose sinew, however ifn its anything like the Moose meat. its gonna be awesome.

on another note: i was talking with an uncle of mine the other day, this is the guy responsible for learning to shoot bow when i was a kid.he said that him and his two hunting buddies will save all their deer backstrap for me this year, last year the three of them got a total of 37 deer in like 4 states,so im hoping to have an abundance this year ;D
