When it's extremely dry like it has being the last couplle of months is really conducive to hunt by using game trails and listen to the pigs make noise in the thick bush, than try follow them and get a shot when they come over to an area a bit more open.
That's how I spent my afternoon, It was really fun, I got busted several times because of the unforgiving swirlying winds,...but than I got lucky ;D

Congrats on your successful hunt Manny. A day in the woods is always good, especially when blood and a broken arrow are involved! ;) 8) Pat
-
I'm shooting a 63", 75# bamboo backed IPE, and a snuffer ( gotta love those heads !!!) as I hit her you could see the blood just exploding out the entrance hole, in a few seconds I heard the deth moan, (actually this one was more like an half squeel, but loud), she was less than 30 yards into the thick stuff, blood trail was a highway
-
Manny, next time I am in Hawaii mind if I look you up and maybe we can hunt some pigs? I will bring my bow and some obsidian tipped arrows.

Awww Gee, Mike. Let's not start this crap again. Alright, you just threw a rock at Manny, he ducked and didn't throw one back. So, are we through? Everybody knows how you all feel, and it is getting kind of boring.

-
Mannie, what kind of tree is that you were in front of with your last bow pictures? How old would you suppose that tree to be? ;)
-
Greg, That's a Banyan (ficus) , this guys if left alone get huge, this one shouldn't be to old, I would say no more than 50 or 60, I could ask.
-
When I grew up in St. Petersburg, there was a park downtown that had a huge one. We'd spend all day there just climbing this tree.
-
Eddie you ever see this on....at Fort Meyers??

-
Wow! To be a kid again... ;D
-
Hey, Greg! Ya only live once. Go for it!
-
Mike, I believe I have. I used to work there quite a bit in the '70's. Isn't it near the old section off of 41 by the Caloosahatchie River? Like going to Edison's house?
-
Yep those Banyans surely are spectacular, ..seen some in the wild that are thruly amazing with roots, coming down cliffs for 60-70 feet and as wide as a building
-
good natural blind! ;)
-
Rigth, I was hiding in the roots of one when I shot a pig at 8 yards
-
Manny, I always wanted to own a house with a big one so I could build a screened in porch way up in the top for BBQ's, and a hot tub, too ;D
-
HOLY CRAP THATS A HUGE TREE ;D

Nice pig there Manny! One day I have got to get to the islands out there. Looks nice and warm!

Nomadic Pirate-These pic remind me of the area above Pearl Ridge, Aiea and the Nanakuli area. Had a great time. I think I was in the right place one time in Nanakuli but a little to early. Had a hog come thru about 2A.M. in the morning and flatten our tent. I was still learnin about hogs back then.

That would freeze the balls off of a brass monkey! :o
Pat, you know the origin of that saying? i believe it has do do with cannon balls. to keep them from rolling around on the ships deck they would stack them like a pyramid. but when the ship rocked the bottom fell out and they rolled anyway. Then they made a dimpled holder like you see for pool balls in the original box out of iron, but found that it would rust to the balls and lock the bottom row in place never to be used again. Then they next tried brass, since it does not corrode the same as the balls. It worked and they no longer rusted together or rolled around, but when it got really cold the brass would contract, popping up and out "off" the cannon balls, which were now rolling on the ship deck once again. Hence the term .
so that is how you freeze the balls off a brass monkey. i always thought it had something to do with a statue and vulgarity ;D

awesome pig- beautiful bow too
