Title: Little help with cordage
Post by: nugget on June 11, 2008, 10:33:13 pm
I am in need of some instruction on making cordage. I have some material  to work with but am lacking the proper technique to make it  ??? .
If someone could give a tutorial  or tell me where i can find a tutorial I would be gratefull.
I have tried on my own but it never seems to turn out correctly.
Thanks

TJ, hard to explain, easy to show. If we could sit down for a few minutes, you'd be making cordage like a pro in no time. If you haven't gotten it figured out by the camp-o-rama, we'll work on it.

TJ, you need to be splicing new fibers in almost continuously to get consistant diameter on the cordage. Just lay the new fiber alongside the old and twist it up with it.

Like hillbilly said easy to show and hard to explane. When addin in new fibers i add them often and leave a little overlap, sometime when i add the fibers one side is larger than the other so i bite of some fibers from the larger side to keep them Evin. Keepin it Evin is the key.
Man thats so confusing I probly did not help any...
