Title: Converting yew dimensions to scotch broom - any advice?

So I have the drawing and measurements, including cross sections, of a little 12th century yew bow I want to copy. I haven’t got any suitable yew but I do have some Scotch Broom that will do nicely.  Anyone know what the performance difference is between the two?
