Any interest in a PITH this year. I haven't knapped hardly at all for months.

We didn’t have a PITH 2024. How's about a 2025 PITH?
I’m in for two.

I should be able to get one Tower.
Really got a lot going on but I’m in for one.

Outstanding!!
I’ve always looked forward to the PITH.
What do y’all think about leaving it open until Feb 9th
Then we can close & I’ll draw names?
-
Sounds like a plan tower! I’m excited for this pith! It’s the most experienced I’ve ever been! ;)
-
Sounds like a Plan, Don.
-
I apologize im running a lil late. I will draw names & list them this evening.
-
Here are the folks signed up for the 2025 PITH if I made a mistake please let me know.
Please send a point of your making to the name below yours. The last name on the list sends a point to the name at the top of the list . Let’s set a ship by date of April 1st.

Happy Knapping
-
Hopefully going to the Silver River Knapp inn tomorrow and pick up some coral and other materials. Hope to have something knapped out soon
-
As a novice knapper, pray tell, what is this "PITH" yinz are all referring to? I'm quite curious

I forget exactly what it stands for but it’s a trade. We say how many points we would like to put in the trade and then we get that many points back from a random draw
I put one point in so my name is on the list once
I send a point to the name under my name and receive a point from the name above mine
So I will send one to Mullet
And receive one from bone pile

PITH - Point in the hat
-
Thanks for the explanation! That's really cool. Maybe next year I'll be good enough to put my name in the hat for the PITH.A new goal to push me. Looks like I'll need to have another visit to Nethers
-
You don't have to be an expert to do it, I'm not for sure. We all started somewhere.
-
Mullet is correct.
It doesn’t matter your skill level .
No one judges here. It’s just a good fun trade.
I have points knapped by the same person 10 years apart. You can really see how much a knapper has progressed.
-
what is a PITH? Where would this take place? I am new and just getting started.
Thanks,

PITH = Point In The Hat
It's a sort of round-robin trade. Everyone sends their point off to the next guy on the list and gets one from the person on the other side of the list. We do bow trades like this, too. For some it's a challenge to level up in the game and try to turn out something next level. For others, it's a cheap lottery ticket to buy a chance to get a point from a knapper they have long admired. The true point (and yes, I chose that word with great deliberation as all puns should be well intended) is feeling of joining into your community and sharing with friends.
How's that for a pithy remark?
-
Steve, I dropped you a point in the mail this morning.
-
Got the point today and it’s beautiful all the way around! Like that color in the obsidian! It seems I’m due to get a new point case going.
Many thanks, Eddie.
-
Bjrogg, sending one up to you today

-
I went to post office today but it was already closed. Maybe tomorrow.
When I got home I had a package waiting for me.
Wow. Way awesome Roger.
Three absolutely beautiful points. All made from Florida Agatized coral. And several nice flakes too. Can’t wait to give it a try.
Thanks again Bone Pile. Really beautiful work.

Oh, Boy!

I hope you like it Eddie. It’s not my best point. In all honesty I am a little rusty. It’s not my worst though either.
I really wanted to put a few more things together but I decided I better just get my package in the mail. Starting to get a little busy around here.

I'm sure I will, Brian. I don't have one of your points in my collection.
-
I made it to the Post Office yesterday and the point was in the box. Thanks Brian! It will make a nice addition to my collection.
