Here’s my latest Osage selfbow made for a friend. 60” ntn, 47# @ 27”. Another one of a kind with a wiggly upper limb. Shoots surprisingly smooth.

I think you nailed it. :OK

Suh-WEET jumpin' Jehosephat! Wouldja just take a gander with yer own peeled eyeballs at that slice of toxophilic craftsmanship and artistry.
Virtually the whole bow looks as if it were laid out by a draftsman with an uncommonly straight ruler until you get to the last third of that limb! And at that point, to quote the philosopher of Beverly Hills (our friend Jed Clampett) "WHOOOOO-EEEEY! Don't that beat all!?!?!"
All bets are off and the whole dang pack of dogs has the scent and a bone in their teeth!
Ok, I would have probably taken it too far, as I often do, and put snake skins or something on it. But your eye for aesthetics is perfect. Here you have let the glorious grain of the wood speak for itself, stayed virtually Spartan in self-denial of lipstick for the pig. Pure elegance in the execution.
Nobody could fault the tiller profile, and with the front profile and all I would have to say this looks like it would send an arrow with some serious authority. She checks off all my boxes, sir, all of them!

Gorgeous bow, lovely tiller.

Very nice!

Killer tiller brother!

Thanks everyone. I was happy the way it turned out being the shortest one I’ve made. Tillered out to 50#@28” for safety.
-
Agreed! Very very nice bow there. The tiller is spot on despite the tip at the one end. That’s not easy to do! That’s a short bow and people may not realize how difficult it is to get a shorter bow tiller looking that good at full draw. I agree. You nailed it
-
Love that snakey limb! Excellent tiller. Nice job!
-
Awesome job on an awesome bow

I think you nailed it. :OK
I’d have to agree with Pat B

Lucky friend. Getting a sweet bow. Love your tillering tree. Gotta make me one.

Thanks again everyone.

Nice! That´s a hunting one!
-
Very nice bow. Well done .

Here’s a second bow out the sister stave to the original bow above. I flipped the stave to be able to get a rotten branch (knot) into the non working handle, so have a wiggle in the lower limb instead of the upper. I have not put a finish on it yet because I’ve only got about 50 arrows through it, and want to shoot another 50 before finishing. Was able to bring this one in at 47# @ 27” also. 61” ntn.

Sorry about the pop up ads. Wish I knew how to get rid of, or avoid them.
-
Well done, you made a tricky stave work really good.

Very nice looking bow there. Well done. As for the adds. I don’t use google or chrome as my browser. I used duck duck go and don’t get adds anymore fyi

Well done I like it. The pop ups will not go away . That’s where the money is. The hits we bring keeps them coming. It’s the new norm! 🤨
