I want to make a try with a string made of some old compound bow string strands for a black locust with fliped extremes selfbow i´m finishing.
It is arround 55lbs at 28".
Do you thing that tipe of bow made of this kind of wood and at this draw weight will stand without breaking just with normal self tips?

Locust is hard so I’m not sure it’s necessary but I’d still pad the loops with a couple extra strands.

Do it and don't think about it again. You'll be fine
