Post by: Ryan_Gill_HuntPrimitive on May 20, 2008, 11:26:45 pm
since i have never backed a bow before,  how do you cut the grain for 1\8 inch hickory or elm backing strips? edge grain?  i'd prefer not to buy them since i have access to it here.  thanks- Ryan

you can use quarter sawn or plain sawn just make sure theres not to many run offs. Its basicaly the same as building a board bow.
