Since it's been too cold to work on bows I decided to finally start my first real knife (I have made decorative ones from junk steel in the past). It's stock removal, so not really at the forge yet, but it will be heat treated using a 2 brick forge.
O1 steel, 1/8" thick, 7.5" long with a 3.25" blade. Just have the shape finished for the moment, waiting for it to warm up enough to grind the bevels without gloves on.

Thanks to all for the comments. I have been stuck for over a week with a brutal cold snap, but that is letting up this week and I will be able to get back on this in the next few days. I sure get grumpy when I am stuck inside watching it snow and can't do anything...

Looking good, love the size. Look forward to seeing it all finished up. :)

Nice start! Looking forward to seeing the finished knife. It is a bit of a cold spell, -26F with a -45F wind chill overnight, high temps have been below zero for most of the week. Supposed to break above zero today, and it has been worse north of here!
